Farm News
The soil is ready and the cloves are broken apart for garlic planting! We put a day in last week and got about halfway through this annual tradition. If we can get 5-7 people to come out I think we can get the rest done in a morning. Tuesday morning from 8am-11am to be specific. Bring a garden trowel, if you have one, and join the garlic planting party! Feel free to email info@folksfarmandseed.com to rsvp or with any questions. We could really use the extra help.
This is a huge week for the farm. Forecasted lows in the 20s and even teens next week so we will be working hard to harvest our remaining crops. Carrots, beets, turnips, cabbage, kohlrabi, broccoli, and napa cabbages all need to be loaded into the cooler by Friday. We have had an amazing long season, just what the doctor ordered, but all good things must come to an end.
The last Larimer County Farmers Market is this Saturday. As is tradition the weather looks cold and spooky!
Where can you find Folks Farm produce after the last market? Well Folks we have some good news. The Farm Stand will remain open with normal business hours for the following week. After that week expect a change to Winter hours.
We are proud to have veggies in a few local grocery outlets! You can find Folks Farm Garlic at Lucky’s Fort Collins (they also have our purple radishes), Lucky’s Boulder, the Fort Collins Food Co-op, and Beaver’s Market. Keep supporting local businesses like Little on Mountain, The Regional, Bistro Nautile, and the Fox Den to enjoy our delicious salads and other goodies.
