The dream garden has a balance of elemental forces throughout the season represented by the crops growing. The poppy, Papaver somniferum, brings a breath of fresh air to earth and water heavy roots and greens. 

The poppy is an herbaceous annual, sometimes perennial, originating from Asia/Eurasia. The poppy has a long complicated history with humanity. This flower has caused wars, fueled drug lords, helped people from unconsolable pain, caused unconsolable pain, seasoned delicious meals, and provided sought after forage for pollinators. To say the least it is a controversial crop that has coevolved with humans for thousands of years.
